Course Description:

Course Outline:   This course is designed to cover all the features of the 2010 Project Web App (PWA) likely to be used by Project Managers. The project manager will understand how to manage projects via Web Access, and also see how they will update personal tasks. Through Web Access, the project manager can also view Enterprise project data, thus enhancing his/her understanding of the effect of individual projects on the collection of projects.  In conjunction with functionality training, labs are used to provide each student with hands-on experience. In addition, each student receives a workbook that describes each topic and its implementation using Microsoft® Project.

Who Should Attend

Managers who have already attended the introductory course and had at least six to eight weeks as a consolidation period, but who are also responsible for Project Offices, Teams, or even the whole organisation!

Course Content:


Project Server Architecture and overview of the EPM solution:
How data is exchanged between Microsoft Project Professional 2010, Project Server and viewed in PWA. How users/stakeholders without Microsoft Project 2010 can interact with the Project Server database. The features of the Project Web App that are most helpful in editing and tracking a project and reporting progress. This includes Project Server’s timesheet capability, reporting of actual hours and percent complete, establishing and using auto-accept rules, and the creation and dissemination of status reports, as well as understanding how to use the wider features of the Project Web App, including accessing the right reports and data of relevance to the Project Manager.

An overview of the EPM Solution and the role of the Project Web App.
